2 Weeks

If only I could capture...

that newborn baby smell
those little kitten noises she makes
how it feels to hear her heartbeat
what holding her does to my heart
the softness of her skin

purity and innocence and perfection...

... that little first smile right before she drifted to sleep tonight.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers today!

And welcome to my new blog!

Ahhh, she does have a name. Yeah! I like it. I always thought Cecilia is a pretty cool name, and Cecilie is pretty much the same. Nice. And I can only agree with your comment about a new baby...which means I better go and not think about that too much.

thank you :)

lilla a, I am not sure yet what I'll do with the old blog. I am trying to export some of my old posts to this blog (maybe the posts of the last 6 months). I think I'll keep Blueberry Fields open for at least a while. I can't part with it completely yet. :)

And sorry I haven't replied to comments (and e-mails) lately. I'll play catch-up today!

Beautiful name, honestly. I especially like the second one.

Interesting blogname by the way.

NH, yes, Soleil is pretty fitting, isn't it? J came up with it, impressive! :)

And for the record: She is still "Sisie." That's her nickname for "Cecilie" (pronounced Ce-ci-lee, not "Zäzilje"). :)

lovely lovely! the name is absolutely beautiful. and I love the pics, again :) happy mother's day! and congratulations to J for too... ;)

Heli, I would have just named her "Sisie" but that was a no-no for J. "She's going to get old one day" was his argument. :D

Sara, thanks. ;)

Alles Gute zum Muttertag auch für Dich und der Name ist echt schön auch nett, wie du die Aussprache beschrieben hast. Ganz nette Fotos sind das ;)

I love, love, LOVE her name! An English variant, Cecily, (same pronunciation, right?) has long been one of my favorites, partly because it harkens back to St. Cecilia, and partly because it's just so very pretty. And with Soleil... charming, meaningful... I love it!
But of course she would still be gorgeous even if her name weren't. Nice work!

Congratulations. Only yesterday I tried to explain to someone the mind-blowing smell of newborns and they looked at me in disbelieve.

Well, you and I know.
