Scenes from around the kids room this afternoon:

I found a place for Fe's canvas, above Fe's bed, yay, I'm happy.
Fe drew a bird. Sisi drew circles, circles, circles.
Sisi is into books.
Favorite books: All the ones by Hannemari Ruohonen. (Thank you, Heli, for the introduction!)
I meant to make my own stick horses. For now the Citymarket ones work.
Fe is choreographing a dance where one only needs to move one's hands.

This lovely song by my friends' sister-in-law/sister is up for the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest
qualifiers. Go and click tykkään (like) if you like. :) I've had it on repeat all evening.

Happy happy Monday.

Oh, and Happy Halloween, too!

Oldies but Goodies

Some pictures from my old blog that I wanted to have here.

From top: the huge canvas Fe (and I, a little) painted, with cling foil, brushes, tire tracks, etc. That was a
fun project! Fe's old room with the blue bed (why did I ever paint it white, I miss the blue!). The felt garland.
Her cute 2-year old's drawings above the bed. The little doll I made for Fe on her 2nd birthday that she
named Mamma Mia. That I had to throw out the other day because Sisi had an accident on top of her (yeah),
and then she got destroyed in the wash. Sad.

And so time flies by. Time for two new dolls, I believe. And another canvas.

PS My kids are into this.

KidsRoom in BW

From left to right to left:
White Horse photo wall. Norm 06 lamp. Miss Under The Rain wall sticker. Kebnekaise knitted pouf. AVA bunk bed.
Playsam dollhouse. Muuto stacked shelf. Eames rocker or one for kids.
bookhou alphabet. Papp 2 Horse by Alex Hellum. Raindrop lamp. bookhou felt chair. Pinocchio multicolore rug by HAY.
Egmont mushroom in black.

+ colorful blankets and pillows and art work and a bunch of children!

We are moving, across at least one ocean, in less than a year, at the end of spring. (Germany, England?
Still not sure about the details.) I have been looking forward to moving for the past four years of my life.
And now that it's near, the Getting Out Of Here, I'm starting to feel very settled all of a sudden. Like I
don't want to go. Like I need to get the girls' room done, finally, with a huge horse head for a wall, so we
have to stay here forever, and live happily, among pine trees and the most wonderful friends anyone
could ever ask for.

Sorry for the shopping craze. I'm dreaming, or making peace, or being silly. (All of them, I guess.)

Indulge me. :)

Happy Monday!

Sorry that I haven't been around much. We've been busy... living.
That's a good thing. :)

You see the problem.

I'd like to get a little bit of both of us into the final product (right now,
things are greatly in favor of the Miss, I think). But HOW?!
I'm working on it.

I earned some money these past weeks by selling some of our stuff.
It feels good to empty the house, and it feels great to earn some money
just for myself. (I had forgotten, I've been at home for so long.)
Anyway, I'm planning on spending it (of course), and I am wondering
on what.

All four of us are off to Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Italy? for Easter
next week... and I think we'll be spending some time on the flea markets
to find a vintage desk/ school chairs, etc.

At least both of us agreed on the coolness of this bed:

Now where to find one?

Hm.

Nicole got the room for little Annabelle finished, and it totally inspired me to work on Fé's (now that the loft got approved and we've been able to get rid of most of the boxes that have been taking up all of our space). Here are a few glimpses. It's still not finished (I need that granny square rug, thanks for agreeing.). And I want to paint a rainbow on the wall, above the bed, among other things (but the husband still needs some convincing... hmm. Sometimes men should not get to have a say, hehe.) I also need to find a place to hang the huge pink canvas we painted together a while ago... decisions, decisions.

To be continued.

PS This birthday party gives me an inferiority complex.
